These 10mm marine-grade polyester rope reins are made from top-quality soft, flexible rope that feels lovely to hold.
They give a fast rein 'release' (slide) to reward your horse quickly.
They come with stainless steel or brass scissor rein clips.
These reins are one-piece for leading with the bridle and doing groundwork before riding (not suited for tying solid unless clips are removed).
- They include detachable rein clips - scissor clips give the most versatility.
- Easy Un-clipping allows leading/groundwork, or remove them easily for tying up with a lead rope, as reins aren't suitable for tying a horse.
- The clips are lightweight so there is a breaking point in the rein. If a horse steps on the rein it's better to break a clip than the bridle or your horse!
- Designed to be light enough for good release (< 300g) to allow correct release on the bitless bridle/noseband chinstrap.
- Easy to remove or replace the clips with looped rein ends.
LightRider Rope Reins These 10mm marine rope reins are light to allow good release of the Light Rider bridle chinstrap.
They come with solid brass or stainless steel scissor clips to match the bridle hardware, and are one piece of rope for leading in the bridle (not suited for tying solid). The loop ends make it easy to replace a clip too.
Available in 4 sizes and 2 colours to match the bridles. Lightrider Reins come in rope, leather, beta biothane or cotton and include rein clips to get the most versatility from your LightRider Bitless Bridle.
LightRider Split Rope Reins (pictured) are also available - made from 10mm equestrian braid rope with looped ends for easy clip replacement. The flat loop has internal hand stitching and is spliced for superior strength, while the tail end is back-spliced for extra weight and has a neat finish complete with a leather popper.
Each rein is 2.15m (7 feet) long and comes with solid brass or stainless steel rein clips.

Best reins
By: Alison on 29 May 2020I have two pairs of these reins. They are light but heavy enough you feel them and they drape nicely without swinging around They are so soft and the perfect thickness. I love the clips so you can easily take them off and use them as a leadrope on long trail rides

Light rope reins
By: Sue on 2 May 2020These reins are soft and the clips are light so there is very little additional weight on the horses head, what I especially like about them is the length. The extra length makes them ideal for in hand work ,I am able to work my horses from the shoulder with a gentle touch on and elasticity in the reins.

Best reins for small hands!
By: Robin Hewit on 2 May 2019My first reins came with my light rider bridle a few years ago. They are still in excellent shape. They wash up great. Have ridden many sweaty miles with them. I love these reins so much I ordered another pair for my other horse. Tried to find something comparable in the USA and just couldn't. Excellent product.

Nice reins
By: Cath on 15 April 2018I like these reins, I have had trouble with the clips breaking before, especially when the kids use them as a lead rope and clunk the clip on a pole or something, so I have a couple of spare ones. But good length and easy to attach, I have several of these and they are great, can also color-coordinate to a degree (more colours would be wonderful) which makes organising tack with 5 kids (& plenty of visitors) easier.

versatile reins
By: lucy andre on 17 July 2017These are wonderful, comfortable in the hands, they don't snag in my horse's long mane and while I can leave them loose to let him snatch up some nice forest grass on the ride, their suppleness means I can quickly draw them up to reassure him if he spooks at a deer. (regular situation- graze/deer/spook!)

Very Happy with Bitless Bridle
By: Sarah on 2 March 2017Love this! Been riding for many years but never tried a bitless until now. Was very impressed how easily the horse made the transition from bit to bitless. She is still very responsive and easy to manage. And so much happier, especially as she has young boys on her still learning to ride who can be a bit heavy on the reins. Very happy with this product, thank you.

LightRider Reins
By: Lise on 28 June 2016Prefer these reins for my hackamore, as I don't like all the ropes flapping around the head and neck area. They are also much lighter than most rope reins. Wish they came in colours to match halters, as the black and brown, are easy to lose.

Very Soft Reins

Great Reins!

WArmblood rope reins

They are long enough that I can sit upright whilst Murphy (16.3hh warmblood/cob) grazes or drinks. The clips work well and are also light. Our 11' Parelli finesse reins are much heavier and weigh 550 grams compared with the Lightrider reins weighing less than 300 grams. I recommend this product.

COMFORTABLE, STYLISH, FUNCTIONAL!
28 June 2016I was very impressed with my LightRider Poly Rope reins! They are incredibly comfortable on my hands, light, and look great (both as a lead rope and as reins). They serve many purposes - I use mine as a lead rope, a lunge line (they are long enough!) and of course, as reins. Everything I expected and more :)
